Adelaide is currently experiencing some hot summer weather that will become a heatwave early next week when temperatures will be around 42 degrees Centigrade. There has been no wandering around the CBD as the city is a heat trap. We have stayed in the parklands
That weather has meant the late afternoon poodle walks in the parklands become early evening ones when the shadows provide some relief from the heat of the sun.
Despite my knowing the parklands well and photographing in it I failed to get past the first round of the Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize. I submitted an image of the trunk of a Morton Bay Fig. I guess it wasn’t picturesque enough for the judges. Presumably, they were looking for pictures that celebrated the beauty of the parklands.
