We have come down to the coast of the southern Fleurieu Peninsula for the Xmas break. The extremely hot weather–a heat spike rather than a heatwave—that we experienced in Adelaide during the week has given way to lower temperatures, cool winds from the south-west, and gentle rain. 2013 has been a hot year in Australia.
Raffi revelled in the cooler temperature and raced around the beach doing his zooms. I had to take it easy on the afternoon poodlewalk—my lower back is still sore and I could only walk on the firm sand. I had to avoid clambering over rocks. Nor could I jog along the cliff top path to catch up with the poodle after photographing the clouds.
