Last Friday Ari and I wandered through Moonta St in Chinatown Adealaide on our afternoon poodlewalk. The green of the BaBa Gallery— a Malaysian and Chinese restaurant—was really vibrant. I walked past the restaurant then came back to photograph it.
I’ve never tried the food so I cannot attest to its quality, freshness or originality.
Adelaide’s Chinatown area is very small and contrived. It was originally built in the 1960s and renovated in the 1980s. There is no sense of history of the Chinese in Adelaide in the architecture. Most of the architecture is utilitarian and run of the mill.
