exploring Adelaide’s alleyways

Whilst Suzanne took Raffi for a walk in the parklands on Saturday afternoon Ari and I wandered the alleyways in Adelaide’s CBD. I was on an urban trawl looking for signs of the investment boom that is being talked about in the local press. A boom that would overcome the process of deindustrialization.

The construction boom is meant to replace the mining boom at Olympic Dam that was promised but never eventuated, as a result of the relaxation of planning regulations that include increasing the height of buildings in the CBD. We are promised more cranes on the skyline and more buildings going up.
